Gross domestic product (GDP) measures annual changes in the inflation-adjusted value of all goods and services produced by the economy. This index is the most comprehensive measure of economic activity and the primary indicator of economic health.
If the numbers come out higher than expected, it should be considered positive/bullish for the CNY, while if the numbers come out lower than expected, it should be considered negative/bearish for the CNY.
China’s annual GDP index was released at 2:00 on January 17 and came in at 2.9%, 1.3% higher than expected. It should be noted that last year the index was 3.9%. After the release of this index, there were no particular fluctuations in the market. Also note that the markets in China will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for the start of the new year in this country. For this reason, important data from this country will not be published next week.
